Action Request: TELL CONGRESS TO OPPOSE A TAX ON PLASTICS

As you may know, Congress is considering a proposal to levy an excise tax of 20 cents per pound on plastic resins produced in the United States, which would raise prices on almost everything you buy, cost American jobs, favor Chinese imports, and result in more greenhouse gas emissions.

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has created a one pager that illustrates the cumulative impact of all the tax proposals in the budget reconciliation plan stacked on top of one another.

We are asking CICD members to please reach out to Sen. Coons, Sen. Carper and Rep. Blunt Rochester using our Take Action webpage and express your opposition to the proposed plastics tax.

CICD has sent a letter on behalf of our industry expressing our opposition to the proposed tax, but it is vital that they hear directly from the employees of Delaware chemistry about how it would impact your company. Please share the link to our take action webpage and encourage your colleagues to act. If you want, we can also create a personalized take action page with your company's logo and tailor the messaging as needed.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to with any questions you may have on this issue.

Thank you,

CICD Team
